On Route 60 @ Pie Town

On a fairly untraveled highway, Route 60, about 60 miles outside of  Soccoro, NM you come upon an eerie sight -- the  VLA  (Very Large Array). Check it out -  27 huge disks, weighing 200+ tons each....all pointed up in space. (Spooky and very familiar to si-fi tv/movie devotees.)

A little down the road you begin to see signs of  Pie Town. At 6,800 feet it's not far from the Continental  Divide. Not much there but what there is  -- is old and cool!
