Fun Happenings

We've really done some fun things the last two weeks. We were given passes to get into a photography conference downtown. We took the light rail which was really easy and fun. We ate downtown and went to the show in Civic Plaza. It was so interesting to see all the many photos and latest greatest items on the market.

Our next fun adventure: got invited to go into a private recording studio where we observed a practice session. It was amazing. The studio was built by one gentleman. It is in his backyard, under a pyramid structure. The studio and control room are in the basement. The viewing area is like a balcony inside the pyramid. Honestly, I cannot explain how professional it is! The people recording that day were not professionals but it was fantastic.

My sewing group is working on a project together. We are making a wall hanging with machine applique wildflower designs. Most of of have not seen these particular wildflowers before. Jackie, who is from Michigan has been telling us about finding these flowers as a child. Her mother had a real appreciation for flowers. That prompted some of us to google the flowers and see the actual colors in nature. Jack-in-the Pulpit has to be the most facinating wildflower. http://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=ARTR

This is not the best picture of my sewing group. (Why is a group picture so hard to get right? Actually they are a very attractive, smiling group!) I am so lucky to have these talented and fun women as friends!
